About this coliving

Train Line Studios is a serviced apartment building in Ella with 8 units for up to 9 residents. The work room has proper desks, monitors on request and a phone booth, so nobody takes calls in the kitchen. Weekends are for hikes: the hosts share their favourite routes and sunrise spots. It suits people who come to get things done: calm rooms, good desks and a no-parties rule.

Wi-Fi runs at around 50 Mbps, with a 4G backup router and backup power for outages. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.

Ella is a small village in the hills, surrounded by tea estates and hiking trails like Little Adam's Peak and Ella Rock. The Nine Arches Bridge is a short walk away, and the train ride from Kandy is often called one of the most beautiful in the world.

Second stay here and it was just as good. Dinesh took us to the local market and cooked rice and curry for the whole house.

Felt at home from the first evening. Desks by the window and a backup router meant zero downtime. Dinesh was incredibly helpful with everything from SIM cards to scooter rental. Bring mosquito repellent for the evenings. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Came for one month and stayed for three. The coworking room is properly set up: good chairs, monitors and a quiet booth for calls. Dinesh shared all the best food spots nearby. A scooter helps, as the shops are a short ride away.

One of the best months I've had on the road. Cool mornings and amazing views for walks. Hikes straight from the door: we did a different trail every weekend. Dinesh sorted out an airport pickup and a local SIM before I even landed.

A calm, friendly base for a month of work. Quiet enough to actually focus, which is what I needed. Dinesh checks in without ever being in the way. Getting there from the airport takes a while, so plan the trip.

Dinesh and Lukas met on the coast and opened Train Line Studios in 2023. They live on site and are happy to help with scooters, SIM cards and the best rice and curry in town.
