Ella Gap Lodge is a guesthouse in Ella with 7 bedrooms for up to 12 residents. Weekends are for hikes: the hosts share their favourite routes and sunrise spots. Twice a week the house cooks together, and Friday is sunset drinks with the whole crew. Rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi and weekly cleaning, which keeps long stays affordable.

Ella is a small village in the hills, surrounded by tea estates and hiking trails like Little Adam's Peak and Ella Rock. The Nine Arches Bridge is a short walk away, and the train ride from Kandy is often called one of the most beautiful in the world.

A really well-run house. Hikes straight from the door: we did a different trail every weekend. Communication with Kavinda was quick and easy before I arrived. Only downside: the road outside can be noisy in the morning. Would definitely come back.

Everything just worked, which is rarer than it should be. Family dinners twice a week made it easy to get to know everyone. My room was clean, bright and quiet. Hot water was a bit hit-and-miss during my stay. Thanks for a wonderful month!

Lovely place with a really good crowd. Lots of spontaneous weekend trips with housemates. A great mix of people. We still have a group chat going. My room was spacious and had a great desk.

Came for one month and stayed for three. Very fair price for what you get, with utilities, cleaning and Wi-Fi included. The common areas are spotless and there is always somewhere quiet to work. Already planning my next stay.
