Uppuveli Beach House is a beach house in Trincomalee with 5 bedrooms for up to 6 residents. The garden opens straight onto the sand, so the sea is the soundtrack to every call. The reef is close enough for a snorkel between calls, and gear is free to borrow. There's always something on: market trips, sunset sessions, weekend road trips with housemates.
Wi-Fi runs at around 80 Mbps, with a 4G backup router. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.
Trincomalee has one of the world's finest natural harbours and long beaches at Uppuveli and Nilaveli. The east coast season runs from about May to October, with calm seas, snorkelling at Pigeon Island and whale and dolphin trips offshore.

Booked on a whim and so glad I did. Saw turtles on the reef three times in one week. Whenever something broke, Fathima had it fixed the same day. There were a couple of power cuts, but the 4G backup kept us online. Highly recommend it for anyone working remotely.

A great balance between work and island life. The beach is literally at the end of the garden. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was unreal. My room was spacious and had a great desk. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Exactly what I was hoping for. Lots of spontaneous weekend trips with housemates. Rooms are simple but comfortable, with good mattresses. Big thanks to everyone in the house.

Came for one month and stayed for three. Snorkelling on the reef between calls became my lunch break. A great mix of people. We still have a group chat going. Fathima checks in without ever being in the way. Already planning my next stay.
