A really well-run house. Quiet enough to actually focus, which is what I needed. Fathima took us to the local market and cooked rice and curry for the whole house. Highly recommend it for anyone working remotely.

Up to 7 residents · 5 bedrooms · 2 weeks minimum
Point Break Lofts is a garden bungalow in Arugam Bay with 5 bedrooms for up to 7 residents. Boards hang by the gate and most residents are in the water before breakfast. There's a dedicated coworking room with ergonomic chairs, external monitors and a booth for calls. It suits people who come to get things done: calm rooms, good desks and a no-parties rule.
Wi-Fi runs at around 120 Mbps, with a 4G backup router and backup power for outages. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.
Arugam Bay is the east coast's surf town: a long crescent of sand, a string of point breaks within a short tuk-tuk ride, and lagoons where elephants come to graze in the evening. The main surf season runs from about April to October, when the town is at its liveliest.
Double bed, wardrobe and a work desk. Shared bathroom.

One of the best months I've had on the road. Fathima was incredibly helpful with everything from SIM cards to scooter rental. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Second stay here and it was just as good. Cleaning was thorough and the sheets were changed every week. Big thanks to everyone in the house.

I arrived knowing nobody and left with a group of friends. The common areas are spotless and there is always somewhere quiet to work. Already planning my next stay.

A calm, friendly base for a month of work. Boards on site and a break five minutes away, so I surfed almost every morning. Desks by the window and a backup router meant zero downtime. Whenever something broke, Fathima had it fixed the same day.

Everything just worked, which is rarer than it should be. The surf guiding was a highlight: Fathima knows which break works on which tide. Fathima checks in without ever being in the way. Would definitely come back.

A great balance between work and island life. I had calls with Europe every evening and the Wi-Fi never dropped once. A peaceful house, and quiet hours are respected. Fathima shared all the best food spots nearby.

Exactly what I was hoping for. The coworking room is properly set up: good chairs, monitors and a quiet booth for calls. Perfect for intermediate surfers, and beginners get lessons right out front. My room was clean, bright and quiet. Can't wait to come back next season.

Lovely place with a really good crowd. Rooms are simple but comfortable, with good mattresses. The kitchen gets busy at dinner time, but people are good about cleaning up. Thanks for a wonderful month!
