Nilaveli Blue Coliving is a villa in Trincomalee with 8 bedrooms for up to 9 residents. It sits right on the beach, with sun loungers under the palms and a sunset view from the terrace. There's a saltwater pool for long afternoon swims between calls. The reef is close enough for a snorkel between calls, and gear is free to borrow.
Wi-Fi runs at around 50 Mbps, with a 4G backup router. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.
Trincomalee has one of the world's finest natural harbours and long beaches at Uppuveli and Nilaveli. The east coast season runs from about May to October, with calm seas, snorkelling at Pigeon Island and whale and dolphin trips offshore.

I arrived knowing nobody and left with a group of friends. Snorkelling on the reef between calls became my lunch break. Late-afternoon swims in the pool became a ritual. Shifana checks in without ever being in the way. A scooter helps, as the shops are a short ride away. Highly recommend it for anyone working remotely.

Everything just worked, which is rarer than it should be. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was unreal. The pool after a long day of calls was the best part. Shifana took us to the local market and cooked rice and curry for the whole house.

Exactly what I was hoping for. The beach is literally at the end of the garden. The common areas are spotless and there is always somewhere quiet to work.
