About this coliving

Negombo Beach House is a beach house in Negombo with 5 bedrooms for up to 5 residents. The garden opens straight onto the sand, so the sea is the soundtrack to every call. There's a saltwater pool for long afternoon swims between calls. Twice a week the house cooks together, and Friday is sunset drinks with the whole crew.

Wi-Fi runs at around 80 Mbps, with a 4G backup router. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.

Negombo is a beach town about 20 minutes from Bandaranaike International Airport, with a long sandy beach, a busy fishing harbour and a large lagoon. It's an easy first or last stop, and a calm base for a short stay.

One of the best months I've had on the road. The kitchen is well stocked and there is plenty of fridge space. Getting there from the airport takes a while, so plan the trip. Already planning my next stay.

Second stay here and it was just as good. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was unreal. Rooms are simple but comfortable, with good mattresses. Bring mosquito repellent for the evenings. Thanks for a wonderful month!

Came for one month and stayed for three. The pool after a long day of calls was the best part. Tharindu and the team made everyone feel welcome. Big thanks to everyone in the house.

Booked on a whim and so glad I did. A great mix of people. We still have a group chat going. The beach is literally at the end of the garden. Tharindu checks in without ever being in the way. The kitchen gets busy at dinner time, but people are good about cleaning up. Would definitely come back.

A decent base for a month, with a few rough edges. Lots of spontaneous weekend trips with housemates. Cleaning was thorough and the sheets were changed every week. Only downside: the road outside can be noisy in the morning. Good value if those things don't bother you.

A calm, friendly base for a month of work. My room was clean, bright and quiet. There were a couple of power cuts, but the 4G backup kept us online. Highly recommend it for anyone working remotely.

Everything just worked, which is rarer than it should be. Tharindu was incredibly helpful with everything from SIM cards to scooter rental. Hot water was a bit hit-and-miss during my stay.

Felt at home from the first evening. Late-afternoon swims in the pool became a ritual. Laundry was easy to sort out and the house is kept very tidy. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
