About this coliving

Reefside Studio House is a beach house in Ahangama with 4 bedrooms for up to 5 residents. It sits right on the beach, with sun loungers under the palms and a sunset view from the terrace. Boards hang by the gate and most residents are in the water before breakfast. It suits people who come to get things done: calm rooms, good desks and a no-parties rule.

Wi-Fi runs at around 250 Mbps on fibre, with a 4G backup router. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.

Ahangama is the stretch of coast between Galle and Weligama where many remote workers end up staying for months. It has reef and point breaks, good cafés and coworking spaces, and stilt fishermen still work the shallows nearby. The surf season runs from about November to April.

One of the best months I've had on the road. Lakmini and the team made everyone feel welcome. Only downside: the road outside can be noisy in the morning.

I arrived knowing nobody and left with a group of friends. The surf guiding was a highlight: Lakmini knows which break works on which tide. The beach is literally at the end of the garden. Cleaning was thorough and the sheets were changed every week. Can't wait to come back next season.

Came for one month and stayed for three. Boards on site and a break five minutes away, so I surfed almost every morning. Rooms are simple but comfortable, with good mattresses. Already planning my next stay.

Booked on a whim and so glad I did. Communication with Lakmini was quick and easy before I arrived. Getting there from the airport takes a while, so plan the trip. Big thanks to everyone in the house.

A really well-run house. A peaceful house, and quiet hours are respected. Perfect for intermediate surfers, and beginners get lessons right out front. The kitchen is well stocked and there is plenty of fridge space. Highly recommend it for anyone working remotely.
