About this coliving

Jungle Beach Retreat is an eco lodge in Unawatuna with 5 bedrooms for up to 5 residents. It's surrounded by green, with hammocks strung between the trees for reading breaks. A teacher comes in for sunrise yoga, and the deck is free the rest of the day for stretching. Local dive schools are nearby, and turtles are regularly spotted on the reef.

Wi-Fi runs at around 100 Mbps, with a 4G backup router. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.

Unawatuna is a sheltered bay just south of Galle, with calm water for swimming most of the season, a jungle-backed beach on the far side of the headland and good snorkelling on the reef. Galle Fort is a ten-minute tuk-tuk ride away.

Came for one month and stayed for three. The yoga sessions were gentle and easy to join as a beginner. Amila took us to the local market and cooked rice and curry for the whole house. Big thanks to everyone in the house.

Felt at home from the first evening. Morning yoga on the deck set the tone for the day. Surrounded by green and very relaxing. My room was spacious and had a great desk. Can't wait to come back next season.

A great balance between work and island life. Snorkelling on the reef between calls became my lunch break. The kitchen is well stocked and there is plenty of fridge space.

Lovely place with a really good crowd. Saw turtles on the reef three times in one week. Waking up to birds and monkeys in the garden never got old. Whenever something broke, Amila had it fixed the same day. Bring mosquito repellent for the evenings.
