About this coliving

Fortside Coliving is a serviced apartment building in Galle with 6 units for up to 6 residents. It's well connected: coworking spaces, restaurants and the seafront are all close. The work room has proper desks, monitors on request and a phone booth, so nobody takes calls in the kitchen. Twice a week the house cooks together, and Friday is sunset drinks with the whole crew.

Wi-Fi runs at around 180 Mbps on fibre, with a 4G backup router and backup power for outages. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.

Galle's 17th-century fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site: a grid of quiet lanes inside old ramparts, with a lighthouse, boutique cafés and sunset walks along the walls. It's an easy base for the beaches of the south coast.

Lovely place with a really good crowd. Easy to get anywhere by tuk-tuk, and the area felt safe at night. Thilini shared all the best food spots nearby. Big thanks to everyone in the house.

Felt at home from the first evening. Lots of spontaneous weekend trips with housemates. Laundry was easy to sort out and the house is kept very tidy. A scooter helps, as the shops are a short ride away. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Everything just worked, which is rarer than it should be. A great mix of people. We still have a group chat going. Desks by the window and a backup router meant zero downtime. The common areas are spotless and there is always somewhere quiet to work. Thanks for a wonderful month!

Second stay here and it was just as good. The coworking room is properly set up: good chairs, monitors and a quiet booth for calls. I had calls with Europe every evening and the Wi-Fi never dropped once. Thilini was incredibly helpful with everything from SIM cards to scooter rental. Bring mosquito repellent for the evenings. Would definitely come back.

A really well-run house. Family dinners twice a week made it easy to get to know everyone. Super central: cafés, gyms and supermarkets all within a short walk. My room was spacious and had a great desk. There were a couple of power cuts, but the 4G backup kept us online. Highly recommend it for anyone working remotely.
