Parrot Rock Studios is a serviced apartment building in Mirissa with 6 units for up to 7 residents. There's a dedicated coworking room with ergonomic chairs, external monitors and a booth for calls. Quiet hours start at 10pm and the work area stays phone-call free. The garden opens straight onto the sand, so the sea is the soundtrack to every call.

Wi-Fi runs at around 90 Mbps, with a 4G backup router and backup power for outages. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.

Mirissa is a small beach town known for whale watching: blue whales pass offshore from roughly November to April. There's a sheltered swimming beach, a palm-topped headland everyone photographs, and plenty of places to eat along the bay.

A great balance between work and island life. The beach is literally at the end of the garden. Whenever something broke, Thilini had it fixed the same day.

Felt at home from the first evening. Quiet enough to actually focus, which is what I needed. Thilini took us to the local market and cooked rice and curry for the whole house.

I arrived knowing nobody and left with a group of friends. The coworking room is properly set up: good chairs, monitors and a quiet booth for calls. Desks by the window and a backup router meant zero downtime. Laundry was easy to sort out and the house is kept very tidy. Big thanks to everyone in the house.
