About this coliving

Midweek Surf Club is a surf camp in Ahangama with 6 bedrooms for up to 9 residents. The house runs surf guiding three mornings a week and knows which break works on which tide. There's always something on: market trips, sunset sessions, weekend road trips with housemates. Rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi and weekly cleaning, which keeps long stays affordable.

Wi-Fi runs at around 110 Mbps, with a 4G backup router. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.

Ahangama is the stretch of coast between Galle and Weligama where many remote workers end up staying for months. It has reef and point breaks, good cafés and coworking spaces, and stilt fishermen still work the shallows nearby. The surf season runs from about November to April.

A calm, friendly base for a month of work. Boards on site and a break five minutes away, so I surfed almost every morning. Whenever something broke, Amila had it fixed the same day. Thanks for a wonderful month!

Felt at home from the first evening. A great mix of people. We still have a group chat going. Lots of spontaneous weekend trips with housemates. Amila shared all the best food spots nearby. Can't wait to come back next season.

A great balance between work and island life. Very fair price for what you get, with utilities, cleaning and Wi-Fi included. The surf guiding was a highlight: Amila knows which break works on which tide. My room was spacious and had a great desk. The kitchen gets busy at dinner time, but people are good about cleaning up. Already planning my next stay.

One of the best months I've had on the road. Great value for a long stay. Perfect for intermediate surfers, and beginners get lessons right out front. Amila and the team made everyone feel welcome.

I arrived knowing nobody and left with a group of friends. The kitchen is well stocked and there is plenty of fridge space. A scooter helps, as the shops are a short ride away. Highly recommend it for anyone working remotely.

Everything just worked, which is rarer than it should be. Family dinners twice a week made it easy to get to know everyone. Cleaning was thorough and the sheets were changed every week. Bring mosquito repellent for the evenings. Would definitely come back.
