Up to 7 residents · 6 bedrooms · 2 weeks minimum
Hibiscus Garden House is a garden bungalow in Mirissa with 6 bedrooms for up to 7 residents. Monkeys, kingfishers and the odd peacock are regular visitors to the garden. Yoga runs on the open-air deck four mornings a week and is included in the rent. It suits people who come to get things done: calm rooms, good desks and a no-parties rule.
Wi-Fi runs at around 70 Mbps, with a 4G backup router. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.
Mirissa is a small beach town known for whale watching: blue whales pass offshore from roughly November to April. There's a sheltered swimming beach, a palm-topped headland everyone photographs, and plenty of places to eat along the bay.
Double bed, wardrobe and a work desk. Shared bathroom.

A decent base for a month, with a few rough edges. Communication with Amila was quick and easy before I arrived. Bring mosquito repellent for the evenings. Good value if those things don't bother you.

Mixed feelings overall. Amila took us to the local market and cooked rice and curry for the whole house. The walls are thin, so earplugs help. Still worth it for the location.

Booked on a whim and so glad I did. Amila checks in without ever being in the way. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

I arrived knowing nobody and left with a group of friends. The kitchen is well stocked and there is plenty of fridge space. A scooter helps, as the shops are a short ride away. Would definitely come back.

A really well-run house. My room was clean, bright and quiet. Can't wait to come back next season.

Everything just worked, which is rarer than it should be. Amila sorted out an airport pickup and a local SIM before I even landed. Already planning my next stay.

One of the best months I've had on the road. Quiet enough to actually focus, which is what I needed. Waking up to birds and monkeys in the garden never got old. Whenever something broke, Amila had it fixed the same day.

Came for one month and stayed for three. A peaceful house, and quiet hours are respected. Surrounded by green and very relaxing. Amila was incredibly helpful with everything from SIM cards to scooter rental. Highly recommend it for anyone working remotely.

Exactly what I was hoping for. Morning yoga on the deck set the tone for the day. The yoga sessions were gentle and easy to join as a beginner. Rooms are simple but comfortable, with good mattresses. Thanks for a wonderful month!

Second stay here and it was just as good. Amila shared all the best food spots nearby.
Hosting since 2023
