A really well-run house. Morning yoga on the deck set the tone for the day. Thilini took us to the local market and cooked rice and curry for the whole house.

Up to 9 residents · 7 bedrooms · 1 month minimum
Cinnamon Hill Coliving is a villa in Ahangama with 7 bedrooms for up to 9 residents. There's a saltwater pool for long afternoon swims between calls. The pace is slow on purpose: healthy food, a massage room and plenty of shade. Yoga runs on the open-air deck four mornings a week and is included in the rent.
Wi-Fi runs at around 170 Mbps on fibre, with a 4G backup router. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.
Ahangama is the stretch of coast between Galle and Weligama where many remote workers end up staying for months. It has reef and point breaks, good cafés and coworking spaces, and stilt fishermen still work the shallows nearby. The surf season runs from about November to April.
Double bed, wardrobe and a work desk. Shared bathroom.

Exactly what I was hoping for. The pool after a long day of calls was the best part. Laundry was easy to sort out and the house is kept very tidy. There were a couple of power cuts, but the 4G backup kept us online.

A calm, friendly base for a month of work. The whole place has a calm, restorative feel. Late-afternoon swims in the pool became a ritual. Thilini and the team made everyone feel welcome. Only downside: the road outside can be noisy in the morning.

A decent base for a month, with a few rough edges. The yoga sessions were gentle and easy to join as a beginner. Thilini was incredibly helpful with everything from SIM cards to scooter rental. Hot water was a bit hit-and-miss during my stay. Good value if those things don't bother you.

Booked on a whim and so glad I did. Healthy breakfasts and a slower pace were exactly what I needed. Thilini sorted out an airport pickup and a local SIM before I even landed. A scooter helps, as the shops are a short ride away. Can't wait to come back next season.
