About this coliving
Northern Light Coliving is a guesthouse in Jaffna with 7 bedrooms for up to 10 residents. It's a characterful old house with thick walls that stay cool in the afternoon. Rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi and weekly cleaning, which keeps long stays affordable. There's always something on: market trips, sunset sessions, weekend road trips with housemates.
Wi-Fi runs at around 90 Mbps, with a 4G backup router. Every room has a desk, and rent includes utilities, Wi-Fi, weekly cleaning and bed linen & towels.
Jaffna is the cultural capital of the Tamil north, with a Dutch-era fort, the golden Nallur Kandaswamy temple, island-hopping across the lagoon and some of the best food in the country.

Came for one month and stayed for three. Sujeevan took us to the local market and cooked rice and curry for the whole house. There were a couple of power cuts, but the 4G backup kept us online.

A calm, friendly base for a month of work. A great mix of people. We still have a group chat going. Cleaning was thorough and the sheets were changed every week. Already planning my next stay.

Exactly what I was hoping for. Sujeevan checks in without ever being in the way. Getting there from the airport takes a while, so plan the trip.

Lovely place with a really good crowd. Lots of spontaneous weekend trips with housemates. Very fair price for what you get, with utilities, cleaning and Wi-Fi included. Sujeevan sorted out an airport pickup and a local SIM before I even landed. Big thanks to everyone in the house.

Everything just worked, which is rarer than it should be. Sujeevan was incredibly helpful with everything from SIM cards to scooter rental. Only downside: the road outside can be noisy in the morning.

A great balance between work and island life. Laundry was easy to sort out and the house is kept very tidy. Can't wait to come back next season.

I arrived knowing nobody and left with a group of friends. Great value for a long stay. Living somewhere with so much history was special, and the evening walks were magic. Sujeevan shared all the best food spots nearby. Highly recommend it for anyone working remotely.

A really well-run house. Family dinners twice a week made it easy to get to know everyone. Communication with Sujeevan was quick and easy before I arrived. The kitchen gets busy at dinner time, but people are good about cleaning up.
